Default Project Hummer SUT

Well this is my first major project with a Hummer body.

So far, I got the rear cut off, it looks... Well it will look better in about a week. I'm not sure about the paint. I know I'll need small parts, so if you have any that you would like to donate, feel free to donate them.

I'll get pictures tonight, just not now, its out in my car right now.

Any suggestions or tips are always welcome.

I seen your thread, but I want to put my touch on it. I might put the rear window on, or I might make it like a cover up, kinda like what you see on TV, like its a humvee, but its a smaller version. I got pictures of it, but I'm really tired.

Nope. A different RC maybe, not an xmod.

I have done alot to the body. The rear of the Hummer (the part theat I cut off) was not in good condition, the person that had it before me, drilled holes in the rear, above the window.

Come on, no replies at all?? I knew I shouldnt have posted this here! I knew I should have posted it in a better forum, where people reply with in a second, lol, just kidding. But seriously, I reply to most likely everybodies project thread, and I get no replies.

At least what you people can do is, say "Good work!" or tips that will actually help me.

Good work! I have some tips that could help you but i forgot what it was...

But seriously though, you've done a good work as of now, but you gotta hide those screws on the bed, take them off and just glue the aluminum plate onto the body.

you guys shouldn't hide your projects...

Sometimes it might take more times before people actually post.
Just post all your updates like you should.

Personally, I'd rather have no comments than having someone asking you a question where the answer is on the first post...

The screws are just temporary, I'll have something like a roll bar. I would really hate to glue the metal or alluminum to the body.

Tonight, in the cold with no heater, I'll be priming the body. I know that I'll will need to go back in side, because it will get cold out side fast. I will be painting in my cold shed, where I always paint. I might be able to find a small heater.

Pictures to come, soon.

Does the paint sick good? becuse I have heard that in cold weather is not the best to paint you might get bad effects, you know?

It shouldnt matter when if I paint it in the cold, but when it dries, it needs to be at least around warm air. I'm not going to paint the hole thing, yet. I'm still debating on the color. It might be white, with alot of scrapes and mudd stains.

Nice work so far...reminds me of my old SUT. Good ol' days. And man, that thing had a LOT of orange peel!

For color, hmmm...I'm thinking something bright, like you said, a white, or candy red/black two tone. I'd stay away from dark colors.

Keep it up. Good luck.

keep it inside where its warm. mounting to something you can grab and move. i tipically like to set it over the top of a used spray paint can. Other wise use a box. (Tape it down!!)

Run out side to your shed, spray the paint, and then run it back inside to dry. Thats the ONLY way to paint it in the cold. do not let it sit out side and get cold at ANY stage of painting your body. it will not turn out. and of course have it firmly mounted to something you can grab so your not putting finger prints in your wet paint.
