Thanks guys...but I'm suddenly not thinking that this color is going to work anymore. The more I look at it, the more it seems to be taking on a brownish purple appearance. I don't know if it's me or if that's the way the paint is curing. Either way, in low light, it looks purple. I don't like purple.

Thanks, Floydfan.' I have decided to change the color altogether, though. This paint turned out to be pretty low quality. I wet-sanded it and lost a lot of the red metallic flakes, and I can't seem to shine it back up right. I'm not sure what kind of color to go with, though. I may keep a dark red, but I'm not sure.

That's one sharp xmod, no matter the paint color.

Eh....I don't know...black shows every little flaw. Besides, I'd want silver stripes on a black car, and all I have are white. If all else fails though, I just might do black, anyway.

I'm starting to lean toward the trademark hugger orange/white stripes scheme...pretty popular with 1st gen Camaro's. It's also what's on the model kit box...

Black and silver always wins.

I just got done looking up some pics of '69 Camaro's that are black with white stripes, and they're all right. I like the silver stripes better, by far; but the white stripes don't suck, either. So I guess I'm doing black with the white SS stripes.

Thanks for the offer on the Mustang stripes, though. I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Car is done...just about. I would still like to do the stripes, but that will have to be at a later date. My decals turned out to be stained, so I'll have to make a new set. This is the way I'm going to submit it for the COTM, though.

For those who recognize them, I swiped the wheels off my Corvair. I put the Bumblebee wheels on the Corvair in the meantime.

Thanks, guys.

Yes and no. It's dupli color paint, but I didn't use a real primer underneath...just wet sanded the "failed" dark red coat so it would act as a primer.

I may try to clean the stripes tonight. The more I look at the pic that Texan_Idiot25 posted, the more I think this car needs to have them.

Oh, and I'm also going to do something to mask that ugly battery enclosure. The hood still opens, so I may also try at putting a mock engine in there, too...if I have the time before the COTM ends...
