Liths hands down. A LOT lighter then 6 cell. I've heard you can run them for 30-40 min before needing to stop and recharge them. But they can explode if not handled properly. But I'm sure you already know that.

-Leave them on the charger too long
-Let cells drop below 3v each(decrease in performance, and still drving car)
-Damaged cells, touching wires poor connections
-Bad mounting.

These are ways to improperly care for them, **** I've said so many different ways can't people search for once.

maybe i'm misinformed, but wouldnt a 6 cell conversion ,despite the extra weigh, make the car go faster than than lithium ions?

The NiMH/Alkaline cells shouldn't match the discharge rate of that of a Lithium Chemistry battery, Suicide_Star. It would just be a higher voltage.

i was just thinking, more cells=more voltage=more current...i didnt take discharge rate into consideration, too early in the morning when i posted that kyle =P

Understandable. Just didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

The six cell NiMHs may last longer, however. Depending on the quality of the Lithium-Chemistry batteries and the NiMH batteries. No one has really done a full test to see which would last longer; it would be an interesting thing to see.

oh, he was asking about what would be a more powerful source, he didnt ask about the runtime...his question was worded a little weirdly

lith-polys sound pretty great... I went and spent 45 dollars on ni-mh batts and 15 min charger and then went to walmart and saw 7.4 volt air hogs lipo pack with charger for 17 on clearence. if you bougt a cheap air hogs to fit it ($20-25) you could take the batt casing out and use it for xmods. too bad I already bought this

Not exactly man...
700mAh will last you some good time, well you know it can't be judged on runtime, it depends on what type of motor you are using.

It'll last not too long on something less than 20 turns, butt with a s1 it'll be a long time.

6 cell if you don't want to keep maintaining batteries, Lipos or Li-ions if you will take the time to take care of lithiums.
