well the newest thing since installing this modified Wasp26 is the rear knuckle shearing off right at the bolt from the insane torque alone. haha!
the truck lifts off into the air on 1 wheel then snaps the knuckle then drops to the ground with the one wheel all over the place. too funny! so ill have to upgrade the rear knuckles now over to alloy which i believe is about 30-40.00 for the set. im hoping to get a few more runs out of this beast before the snow starts falling as im awaiting for the carb rebuild set to arrive from my local hobby. too much fun!! im still without a digi-cam but will definetly post new pics when i get a chance. |

not bad i just recently got my savage 21 up and running again. about a year ago
blew up my picco .26 at a race and just shelfed it after that. i purchased a axial 28 spec 1s about a month ago and just finished breaking the motor in, the thing is insane globs of power. the truck is mostly stock compared to what you got there with all the integy stuff, im not too much of a fan of the aluminum parts, more show then performance, has no flex so therefor can crack, stock plastic can just bend and obsorb most of the impacts, also ALOT cheaper haha. |

well....this is where your wrong actually!
i wont upgrade the suspension arms to alloy but in other cases seen on my savage is for strengthening purposes. Alloy uprights, Alloy bulkheads, CVD axles, etc are way better when trashing like i do. Only things for bling on mine would be the trans case and towers. all up to the driver really. |

true true, driver preference is a big factor, but in curtain parts i feel plastic is the way to go, but thats just me and it also depends on the bashing you do. i purchased integy piggybacks a while back and i hated them they felt like they couldn't take any abuse at all. yes you did it right and upgraded the right parts and looks nice but soooooooo much money.one little thing you should do with that engine is put 4 zip ties on the top of the head pointing up does wonders in saving the head from scratches and bends.

i have a New Era full race cage for this truck. I just need to weld in some bracing to further strenghten it.
but yea, plastic is the way to go towards suspension arms, towers, etc where they may take a hit and bend and with plastic parts comes memory. This means in most cases the plastic arms or towers will go back to thier orginal form unlike alloy where it would stay bent. |
