alloy provides strength, and the bling factor. the only drawback with alloy is if you hit somthing really hard you can bend the alloy.

Aluminum is NEVER lighter than plastic unless the alum part has 60-70% less area than the plastic part. As an example, a simple mini-Z MA10 motor spacers are .5 grams heavier in aluminum and they're such parts where its hard to add or remove any bulk due to the design.
Xmod knuckles are very simple, so that remains true for them. The front/rear gearbox covers/replacements are defently heavier due to the sheer bulk of them. Bottom line is that reinforcement comes at the price of weight and money.

well i ordered GPM parts and they should be arriving tomorrow. the way i see it, its mostly the "bling factor" but for example, the knuckles and CVDs provide more stability, another drawback is that, they GPM parts are only copies of stock parts not upgraded ones. also they are more durable that plastic, but like i said, its mostly the looks

I think they help, I mean especially if you run them on a harsh surface. But it all depends on how you value the parts and the car. I for one don't mind spending the money.

If you drive your car around on low with stock everything on tile and take corners real nice and easy, then you're probably better off not getting GPM parts. But I'm sure you don't want to do that, lol.
Definitely go for the front and rear knuckle GPMs first. The stock ones broke in a week for me, which was disappointing, but lead to me finding this site, lol. They no doubt look cooler too.

i've ordered GPM too, I think i bought it to help with strength, and i want my car to last a long time with the littlest amount of problems, thats one major reason to get GPM

I had a good deal of aluminum parts on my Xmod and the car became so much more heavier. If more depressing wasthe fact that some of the parts did not fit as well as the stock parts. I only kept axle stubs, dogbones, tie-rod and motor heat sink. I recently made an aluminum chassis and even the weight of that is disappointing. CF chassis FTW!

really? the parts didnt fit right for you? thats depressing, well, i hope my GPM parts work the way i want haha. Im looking to just reinforce the places that need/can use the reinforcement.
