I bought 2 of the jap subaru hoods off of XI for like 4-5 dollars each. I got the whole jap bodykit for $6.00 shipped from the UK. It all depends on where you look.

ahh i see
i live in England, so they are pretty readily available to be honest

yes you have to wait....but not for long...i will update the thread once it's in primer fully finished bodywork.

i'm not using the subaru spoiler anymore, and i'm not using one until i've found one that suits it.....may not even use one at all.

erm...anyone got an idea how i can set the front wheels out further to fill the arches...preferably without cutting them and making them deep dish

This is quite hard to do on a Gen 1 chassis. I'm thinking of using spacers, but the nut won't screw in. I do have a slight idea, but it's werid and might not be that great.

Unless, you do this on a Evo chassis. Then you can extend the axles on the front and rear.

You can also get some mini z rims. +3 offset all around, more rim choices and tires are better.

Anyways, It looks amazing, You took your time and now you got one great work of art/xmod

You can do the wide axle upgrade on the front end, but it's going to be too wide. You can cut down the 1st axle a bit then glue them together. Or, you can use the wider axles from the suspension upgrade kit. Not sure if that would be wide enough thought.

righteo,
still not finished....but rear ends had a change around front arches nearly done, erm.....window detail nearly finished, rear end should be done tonight...then it should be in primer by tomorrow night with any luck.
The blue i'm using is the same colour as the one on my skyline, but it will be done much much better.
for the moment i'm going to leave it wingless i think...
that's about it...i thought i'd keep you updated on the progress, although i'm not posting any more pics until it's pretty much done...just thought i'd give you some scope on where i am with it.

grrr...1 of the rear arches was bugging me, but when filing it i caught it a bit hard and pretty much ripped it off
but it's back in place now, and got putty on it to leave over night...tomorrow i'm going to fibreglass the inside of the body to strenthen it so that doesn't happen again....just makes it a lot more work for me to do!

...and what's your definition of "sweet graphix" hmnbb?
i think it should be something that you'd see at a concept show. and what do those all look like? some nice solid metallic color. just make it shiny and unique.

im not saying use my definition, he wants the car to define him, correct me if im wrong. he should make it how he likes it, im suggesting that if he wanted to, he could make a graphix that describes what style he wants, and what look, which includes a color scheme, he is going for on this project. but when it comes down to it, its his car, and his decisions, (he changes them frequently, lol, jkjkjk) i can only suggest.

cheers for the input,
the car is going 1 colour, which is vauxhall arden blue i.e:
http://www.smartlease.co.uk/astra%20vxr1.jpg

with gloss black details

yea the concept car style is almost what i'm after...if i did this project again, it would be something totally different...i've learnt a lot about style and design over the years, and my next project will be even better...this is not the end i promise

that's a smexy blue.
and blue's my fav color. i'm thrilled to see the outcome.

on your next project, how about doing it so that even the roofline, windows, a-pillars and stuff is different? like take a vette body and turn it into something like:

good thing this isn't the end. your work is great.
