No it doesn't the FETs are just peachy. Nothing wrong with them....yet...
I might have fixed the motor, not sure though. If not I'll get a nicer one...although, I sure liked this Radline SP motor....

Its an off-roader though....i need lots of torque!
It is the motor....sounds like it is rubbing the magnets or possibly not spinning correctly. I ran it for 15-20 seconds....and it got hot in that short time.

I don't know how to wind, if I did, i'd make a custom one. Probably just gonna throw a stage 2/stage one in this radline can, so I don't have to take the neo mags out....that's a pain.... The motor works...but like I said its hitting the magnets or something...

Almost is not good enough for me. I gotta have full wheelies where it flips the truck...

Got the lights to work! Woot, will get some pics up in a little bit. I am thinking about putting a white stripe on the body, with electrical tape since I totally forgot to do it when I painted it....
so what do you guys think....?

Single stripe in the center, to the left, or right...kind of like this...but on a montero body...

Or double stripes down the middle?
The reason I am doing this is to cover up a crack in the hood that only became noticeable once painting was done.

I love monteros, my dad got his jacked in 1997 . Very nice job, for a crawler you may want to go servo, gearbox, or gomers method. If not go for the DIY motor, its very exspensive though.

LINK TO GOMERS METHOD --> http://xmodsforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4010

Edit:

Link to knex gearbox for sale --> http://www.knex.com/building_toys/te...pack_motor.php

The upside of gomers method is the fantastic speed. Throw some neos in a stage 1 and use those gears, and you have the best crawler motor ever, and it is almost impossible to fry or burn it out

I decided its not gonna be a crawler for now, I'll do that in the future if I want to. Its just gonna be an off-roader, so I have a higher speed. Since my radline motor went to crap, I put a stage 2 armature in this extra can I had with neo mags. Haven't tested it on the ground yet because of wiring my lights right, but from the look of it....its gonna get along pretty well. Taping the wires now so they don't short, then I'll go ahead and put the front bumper on.
Those are nice tutorials though. Thank you, I will bookmark them.

Lol, I'd have to make a bigger course for that....or just break it in more!!!

Here is some pictures of the front. Still working on the back, its more complicated. The picture of it in the dark is kind of blurry, sorry its my camera. That's the lights when its just sitting there, when I give it throttle it glares the camera too much, but they are bright!

Been awhile since I have even worked on this project....the body is probably covered in some dust. I got an idea for the motor , ordered it, just waiting for it to come. Did some work on the battery configuration tonight. I decided to run two split up cells instead of the battery tray. I think the position of the cells will be okay. It can still articulate fully, as in the pic. I think I wired it right...connect the cells red to black, then connected to the EP by red to red, and black to black. If that is wrong please let me know! Pretty sure it is the right way though, just want to check.

More updates once the motor gets here.

everything looks great on its own but i have to comment on the proportions.
the wheels are too small for the lift and your base is off a bit in the front.
i don't know about anyone else but i'd rather have a truck that looked the part and performed slightly less then a truck that performed well but looks goofy.(stance wise)

The wheels are Aoshimas, on slammed rims, and the lift is just the off-road upgrade....hmm...
Where is the base off, or rather what are you reffering to?

Don't want my truck looking goofy now.

Edit: Actually I do need some bigger tires....fitting the body to it now, they do look a bit small.
Edit to the Edit: I think its the front battery holder thats the problem. Its a lot bigger than the other one, and when I took it off, I could move the body lower, and it looked a lot better.

Looks cool, I like the battery mounting.

I think I have the same carpet as you in my bedroom.
