instead of spinning the windings, the windings spin the magnets. circuit cars are not meant to be ultra fast. circuit cars ususally do not ever use lithiums and really fast motors. most use NiMH and a 50-70 turn motor which is not much faster than stock, but have slightly higher end magnets, allowing the motors to acheive slightly faster acceleration out of a corner. handling is the focus in circuit. lithium and such is mainly for wide open stretches of smooth ground. EDIT: mosfets do not increase speed by much but increase the ability of the car to pass current to the motor and better mosfets take the strain off the electronics.

just curious, if this is a drag car.. why are u so concerned with the steering? the new servo just seems like extra added weight to me.

You asked this same question in my tutorial. it is a big step over the stock servo w/stock pcb, but when you don't have to modify it(take out the board make it a 5wire servo) and keep it a 3 wire servo it is even better.
stock servokay/bad Hs-55 w/stock board:great hs-55 w/hobby grade(still a 3 wire servo):excellent Great Project man, Love the vette, and good luck with the elecs i'll be keeping an eye out.

I made a tut for the hs-55 to an evo board(How-To: Wiring a Hs-55 to an evo board)... o well, the mini z board is different, so i don't know with that

it's the same as with an xmod board. just use the mini-z board swap tut as reference to which wire corresponds to which with xmod vs mini-z. it's the same thing basically

The batteries are charging and ill have a new vid up soon. I think the way I figured out how to connect the servo arm to the swing arm is the best I have seen it done.
