the car looks super light, but how long do you think those batteries will last? are they AA size, can't tell, and will lexan get soft if its so close to the batteries?-when they heat up

It shouldn't. I have used it before. But anyway like I said this is mockup the final chassis will be CF. I use the lexan to design and fit my custom chassis before I cut the CF. I also use it as a template to cut the CF.

Why do you think the batteries won't last. they are Atomicmods Lithium rechargables.

They are a little smaller then the Xmod AA Liths because these are for the Mini-Z. The cells are smaller then the ones used for Xmods but the Volts and everything is the same.

I like the soldering iron tips.

Looks good so far, watch the batteries so they don't get knicked up with the bottom open like that.

what do you plan on doing for the wheels? Are you keeping the Mustang wheels or no?

*** UPDATE ***

Okay I cut the top plate for the GTO chassis. This is my new TriX-3.2 ... I hope you like it. The bottom plate of the chassis is also CF and basically is just like my Tri-X 3.1 but is 3mm higher. It is very solid and sturdy as well as very light. This chassis is raised for modding, not for racers. Basically it raises the chassis just high enough to hide it in the body to make that custom 1/25 body pop, without having the Xmod chassis sticking out of the bottom. (The last picture is to demonstrate that) This chassis is for 1/25 long cars like this GTO. I am making an adjustable one to. ENJOY.

* Make note, this chassis is completely hand cut no CNC machine yet, but I enjoy it. I haven't sealed or blacken'd the edges yet, sorry.

Nice chassis. I definitely like the idea of not having the big ugly battery-bulge hanging below the rocker panels.

You can find them on eBay, XI, AM and various other sites. Make sure you get the correct ones.

*** UPDATE ***

Well got some RV 2wd mini-z PCBs in and one is going into the GTO.

Also what do you guys think about these wheels and tires. Classis muscle. I also have another set of Bullitt deep dishes (they are much the same but all 4 tires are the same size, a little larger then the front tires on there now)

Cool, so we are ready to ROCK N' ROLL. I gotta keep moving forward only 2 weeks left and I haven't started the interior, the engine or the body. I will have the chassis wireed up and complete tonight. Thanks for your comments, it drives me and helps me make the hard decisions.

PS_ I think it's time to change some of the posters in my XMOD mini garage.
