Zippos Customs 1/5th scale buggy - Page 2

well this hobby shop i go to got my body and wing in. and while i was there picked up a few more items. a new spur gear, had a spare already, and ordered 2 more. at 7 bucks a piece. i can replace quite a few before it equals the 65 bucks they want for a metal gear.
and the body i decided on was the desert rat. going to try to paint it this weekend.
also picked up the clutch / pinion shaft support, and ordered bearings. theres a little bit of side to side play, so i think i'll replace it. also ordered some brakes and theres a peice that goes between the rotors the appears to have came off. lol. so its on order too.

lol, when i called in asking about the bodies available through the hobby shop they told me about that. i said how much? 100 bucks? they said keep going. 180-190. and i told them to order the desert rat. lol

lol yea.... still confuses me.. why the baja 5t bodies are pretty much $200 and the 5b body is $30 lol

im pretty sure the 5t body is thicker. i know my sc8 body is as thick or thicker than the desert rat body. more material. etc. blah blah blah. whatever they can justify charging more for they will. lol

got a few more goodies. had just a little bit of play in the the pinion / clutch shaft so i got some new bearings and a housing. and some new brakes and a spacer. also decided to upgrade the throttle servo to a metal gear one.

well finally got around to tearing it apart and seeing what all was broken / bent / destroyed from the kartwheel
everything in this pic needs replaced

what had to be pulled apart as well to see

everything here made the ride alright

she looks a little bare

just wish i couldda got a video of this mishap

well im trying to find an online vendor with everything in stock. so i can just order everything at once. and i need to check with my normal hobby shop to see what they can do for me.
but hpis site says 130 bucks for all the replacements, ebay (but a whole bunch of vendors) 100-110ish. so im not sure which way i wanna go.

and how can you forget this one? lol
