Well, the problem is, I used to take pictures with macro and it was "sharp" in a sense. But, when I use the same amount of lighting I used to have now, it has a haze. I can't figure out why.

Edit: Lol, I figure out why I have haze... There was a smuge on the camera lense... Dum meh...

Mooshu_Beef you rule!!

See, I have a nice Cannon camera, a PowerShot SD800 IS.

When I turn on macro, and go up close, and take a pic, it's bad.
Why?
Because the macro doesn't work well up close IMO.

When I take xmods pics it does that little green square where it's focused, I just follow to where I want the focus, and it works fine.

Nice write up/essay.

Nah see when I go really close it gets blurry, I just have to lay off to about an inch between the car and the lense, and it's a charmer.

You would have a hard time using a autofocus at less then 1 inch even with a real marco lens

here is a ok one I shot with my wifes point and shoot in macro mode. I don't have a marco lens for my camera, so I used hers not to bad concidering no tripod most of you guys would have better luck if you used a tripod. A mini one that sits on the table would be really good for XMOD pictures, taken with small light point and shoots. Such as my wifes Cannon Powershot SD1000.

Mooshu_Beef you are my inspiration.

Hahaha, sweet picture Jimmy. Wonder where you got the idea?

I have an Olympus SP-320. It is amazingly versatile for a point and shoot, and got it over 2 years ago for $200 and with 7.1 MP it was an amazing bargain.

Most cameras have large MP ratings, but the sensors are no good. MP (Mega Pixels) just tells you the size of picture it will make, without expanding pixels.

I love canons--and I've used a Mark 1Ds and 20D before with various lenses. Beautiful pictures when there is enough light--and their point and shoots are great too.

Here are some other shots I did.

I have a Fujifilm finepix A350. Its a point and shoot. You can't ajust the ISO or anything. But it takes really good pictures. The Autofocus gets really annoying!
