actually, i wouldn't go BL on the TT01 if i were you. the TT01 spur gear gets easily melted/stripped when subjected to BL power. i'd stick with something along the lines of a 19t mod-motor and lithium. 3Racing has a nice carbon-fiber conversion kit. you just have to seal the edges so it doesn't delaminate on you. also you may have to get a new body due to the 3Racing kit's length discrepancies, or so i've heard. but that's an awesome deal. i paid 200 bucks for my tt01 and it's bone stock: plastic everything. no upper plate, normal plastic dogbones... it works, just not as well.

the TL01's are good for BL though, and so are TA's

and countersteer drifting can be veyr addicting if you can get into it. Active hobby is going to come out with a CS kit soon that is bolt-on, and then you can CS drift.

The 3Racing kit was the one I was looking at, didn't realize it needed to be sealed though... thats a pain!! I'll look in the chassis lengths though....

yeah, chasis seali is a pain, but definitely worth it if you got the cash for it. a carbon chassis is really stiff compared to the tub, and your handling can become more consistent with the conversion. I recommend HPI bodies and Tamiya bodies. many others are a bit questionable in detail level or they're jsut **** expensive.

So thanks to noturday I now have a 1:10 scale HPT Racing spoiler on my Porsche:

Oh yeah check that bad boy out

Additionally some of my GPM arrived:

I went with the silver because after looking around the blue and red colors seem to be the most common, no difference in cost but I wanted to be a little different

Haven't installed it yet but will post more photos once I have.

hmm interesting... I will look into that and see what I can find... I was going to go with the 3Racing stuff but have heard of problems with fitment, I think it will end up being a mixture, 3Racing CF chassis with Tamiya and GPM alloy.

Updates 01/20/2010

Have installed the GPM parts:

Quick shot through the back window showing the rear GPM arms.

The problem with buying used is that sometimes you can really tell that its used:

but oh well at least the shinny GPM makes up for it

A few stock type shots just showing the chassis, motor and electronics:

Enjoy.

the 3-racing kit only has the downside that the wheelbase changes a few mm.
nothing a new bodyshell won't fix

Was playing around with macro mode but kinda failed due to the lack of natural light... some of them came out OK then some just plain old suck and then the cat decided to get involved....

Also these are some shots of the beater Evo shell that came with the car, as you can see its pretty trashed but I've been digging away at it, sanding and stripping try to get it back to the plastic...

I've ordered a new body shell so this is purely for the experience of spraying lexan body shells, not in any rush with it so will just keep plugging away at it.....

try DOT3 brake fluid. strps the paint right off. and since it's lexan, it won't disintegrate as easily as xmod plastic

Well I figured as everyone else was posting up their latest TT-01 photos and modifications that I really needed to do something on mine, now the reason I haven't is because I've been waiting since December for a body I purchased from an eBay seller he finally sent it out to me a month or so ago but the quality was terrible so I sent it back and told him to redo it as I had asked him to, it is supposedly done and is meant to be being shipped out to me in the next week or two so expect more updates from me once that arrives.

Whilst waiting on the body I have been searching to find a set of rims that would work with it, I never found the right set so figured I would just sand down my current rims to remove some of the curb rash then repaint and gloss them, they now look as follows:

Kind of wish I hadn't bothered ordering a new body because I am really liking how this looks right now

I also decided that as it was such as nice day I would take a few shots of the shinny GPM:

Questions and comments welcome

oo i like it. shiny stuff, and sick wheel color/body color combo.
only thing throwing me off is the scraped up undertray, but hey, it was used, so it's expected. though you can probably get the bottom smoothed out somehow or get 3-racing's graphite chassis conversion kit
