No they actually did stage 1 AND 2. Got lazy with Evos though.

I've done something similar to this before (same thing but with only 6 batteries and not an xmods motor), didn't have any caps on it though (lucky for me I guess). Anyway, it got real hot real fast, but I took it apart after words and there was no visible damage. No real use to it though other than to mess around.
