got it! if the lith-ions dont get too hot you could place them under the hood, or above the motor.

well... if you read it, I'm going to make the cells look like "NOS" bottles in the "gutted" passenger seat...

With the interior now in there I'm trying to hide all the wires to make it look like a clean car, just like you don't see any of the wiring when you drive your car or in your parents car. It's basically going to look like a real car once i'm done.

As for under the hood i don't think i'll have space... I'm putting the CLL, Interior Glow, MiniZ board, and HS55 servo in there (yes I'm a master of abusing space) above the motor is kinda wastefull too... i mean look at the pics.. there's no space above the motor considering that this is a convertible going for a clean, "real" look

ah. again, got it. srry for not understanding. maybe custom make a cover like to make it look like NOS bottles, and also to cover the wires.

Lol... well if you wanna go fast and you're gonna destroy the block... might as well make it count right lol? I really can't find any other way of fitting a power supply in here tbh, not even flat pack li-poly would fit.

*cough* weight will be monstor on one side of this car with both liths on one side, *cought* you might want to think of something smoother.

How heavy are AA liths? they can't be that much... I guess i can screw around with some things... but... idk.. maybe a thin aluminum or steel or brass plate under the driver seat as a "mounting" bracket

Update #13: Styrene is my new best friend

So I've never played with styrene sheets like Credit cards etc etc on any of my projects... but today I saw why everyone uses them, they're a great base for body modding. Anyways enjoy the pics, get ready guys, i'm going for the finish.

Update #14: Almost There

So tonights focus, aside from the sanding on the new pieces of styrene added, is the rear Top Cover... To see what my Target is, below is a few screen shots taken from Nissans 360 Gallery on their web page. The 4 views show the top cover both opened and closed.

This is the last and hardest piece that will be apart of the shell... its so hard I don't know how to procede in making it, As I told dontspamme, this is my 4th attempt at the top cover... Wish me luck.

As for the Main Shell itself, minus the top cover, i think I'm done with it. So Once the top cover is done, theres the last matter of interior fitting and bam! its a wrap.... enjoy the pics of my sanding and measuring.

you can see how level the piece is right now

Rear Diffusers/deflecters/decks... lol

It's been a long while since this project was put on hold. I'd be lying if said that it wasn't discouraging to constantly stare at this project without it being close to done.

Looking back through this thread I see a lot of the pics are now broken links or have long since been removed so I'm going to revamp the thread with this post. I'm going to show the documentation from beginning to where it sits now, because in the coming month it's going to take a full turn to crazy. The type of crazy that everyone would've loved to see then as much as you will all love to see now. Enjoy.

Now that's a long journey.... and it's only about to get longer as you can imagine. The biggest challenges faced so far being spacial issues/fitting all components in, but that has changed during my hiatus and low and behold a power supply has come to life during this time:

3.7V 240mAh 30C LiPo packs. They're 25mm long, 20mm wide, and 5mm thick, tiny little buggers.

Power source hasn't been the only issue, trying to fit a whole interior in, i'm sure you can all imagine the space I have to give up inside one of these RC's... But there is hope, and a lot of planning on the surface. Though a custom chassis is imminent, it won't be a drastic change towards what everyone already knows and loves, it will however change all you thought possible on the Gen 1 platform. More to come later.
