Default Hummer H1 crawler

Got this today:

Pre-painted Hummer body. I would have chose something that wasnt pre-painted, but unfortunately there just doesnt seem to be any this size Hummer.

Well anyway I like that color, but I dont like that soft top.
Bed would also be better without that cover, but what would a project be without challenge?

So this is what I am going to do:

First I need to make the chassis a bit longer
Bigger tires should be wide enough so it wont look stupid
Working lights
Maybe sanding down the soft top and do a hard top instead
Maybe opening up the bed too
I already got the 4wd-set, but it needs locked diffs
Replacing plastic parts to metal
Crawler motor. Open for suggestions.

I also need some sort of offroad-equipment onto it. Maybe I buy one or two plastic model kits and salvage what I can, but what would be good set(s) for that? Roof rack, gas canister, more lights and stuff like that.

And maybe, just maybe I just fit all the xmods electronics and stuff inside that Hummers body and do some serious chassis modification.

A little bit progress:

So I sanded the roof back to hard top and made those doors smooth.

Next I started to think were would I get rear fenders, until I looked all those parts and found this:

There was it. Cut everything unnecessary away and I got these:

Well the rear is almost ready:

And I didnt like the way that those doors look like so I removed filling from them and returned them back to stock. They just looked too boring when they were all smooth and this car needs attidute.
No pic of that yet, but soon when I get back to this project.

And I had those Recaro racing seats and I decided to use them.

Well I was painting so I base coated this too:

Still needs a lot of sanding like you can see, but I was just trying to see if the roof is ok yet.

Pics are kinda blurry, but its really not much to see yet.
