I think he ment it would not be true duals if he was running a Y pipe but he is still wrong. just a few ways to do duals, but not the only ways |

My truck is currently set up like the one in the middle, although it won't have mufflers on it after tuesday. Because the manifolds go out & connect into the cat then split anf make the dual again.

<3 Jimmy's drawings...so crude, yet so understandable *claps* I've got the first configuration on my truck (was actually Tex's idea) and it sounds very old school hotrodish. Bending over a piece of wood is a no go. I bend stainless tubing at work and it's not that hard to kink, even with the right equipment, much less some makeshift junk with stuff laying around the shed.

For instance, the CST10 is "true" duals. I think it sounds better, much throbbier at idle than a y-piped or x-pipe car. You can hear each bank firing in sterero.

Got the new pipes & the total spent $239.41 truck sounds really good, nice deep rumble & nice deep cackle when the rpm's are going down. Will try to get a vid soon.

I've bent all kinds of pipe with all kinds of different tools and while exhaust pipe is significantly more pliable than the stainless, rigid, etc that i bend, that just means that it's easier to kink. The only way that I can see one successfully bending that stuff with a log and vise without kinking it is with a heat gun or a flame and taking a lot more time than they should have when they could have just let a professional do it. Not flaming, just saying...I bend more pipe than a fat hooker.

Well I went and checked the mail today & its the usual stuff, junk mail, bills, etc...There was a bank paper statement thing in there too & it was on an account the was emptied & closed about a year ago or so we thought. Open up the envelope & it says I have $100 in an account just sitting there. Time to schedule an appointment & get a High Flow Performance Cat put on.

Well I don't nesecarily mean a high performance cat, but I have the old bead style Cat which is huge & restrics my exhaust flow so I am replacing & I was told it needed to be replace since it was 18 years old.

Headers were on my front porch when I got home from school.
Pics will come later, although most people already know what they look like. Also it has a 5/16" Flange or 3/8" for those of you who don't know what the first one means, so no warping for me.

Well here are the Headers:
Flange is almost 1/2" not bad for $79.99. Plans for these, get metal gaskets when the papery type ones go bad.
