You were expecting a big update? Well i have been really busy lately. I really can't work on the chassis until i get a motor. I am saving my money right now. I want to get a New Mini Revo...

Update:

The last pic of the hood scoop is it glued on.

I just started working on it this afternoon. I looked on google for some ideas on 4runners. And came across a hood scoop.

The hood scoop is from and f-150 body kit hood. I cut it out and modded it a little to fit with the body lines and lower it a bit. The driver's side spike thingy accidently got cut a little by the dremmel that is why it is shorter. I will fix that.

I did cut up the light bar at thought about putting the lights on the roof, but i don't know if i like it.

I just had to do something for the exhaust so...(from the side skirts of the f-150). The driver's side was my first attempt and it is perfect the passenger's side needs some work... lol.

Thanks

I have been busy working on other projects(the late model, and Viper). I noticed i had almost all the parts to complete the chassis.

That is a Micro T gearbox with a radline spur gear attached. The Diff was locked so it had constant power to the front and rear gearboxes. The slipper is nice incase i come to an obstacle i can't pass.

The motor the stock mini late model servo. 360* mod and radline spur gear attached. 1:1 gear ratio.

This is only the start. I need to make my own front gearbox now along with a chassis.

Stay tuned

This project is too good! Great work here!
What kind of plastic are you using? I have lots of gears and spare parts but no chassis...so this has given me some inspiration to attempt a custom chassis.

Keep the updates coming!

Thank you.

I am using different thicknesses of styrene, found at the lhs. 1mm, 1.5mm are the most used(gearboxes).

I am in need of a new motor now, my servo quit on my while testing. I have been looking at other servos, like the hs82bb.

The body has been given some leftover putty when working on the viper, it hasn't changed much.

I haven't done much to the front gearbox.

How exactly are you going to get the axle to stay on the tires? It fits the half-cut Xmod wheel design, but the only way it would stay there is if it was glued.

I will glue the rears when the time comes, other wise for testing and messing around with tire combos i would just tape them. The fronts will be have threads, actually the evo truck front knuckles.

Update:

Not much to show.

I did make the front gearbox, it needs to be cleaned up a bit.

I will make the solid axle design by connecting the knuckles to the bottom of the gearbox with some styrene, the top will be the same, and i will use a dogbones to connect the wheels to the front gearbox, so i can turn.

My servo motor went south, so i am looking for some ideas or servos.

I haven't really built anything else, i have been working on the viper and the late model...

thanks
