Talking FET q's

I read the FET sticky but I am still left wondering:

if I have FETs installed (Im talkin take the current off and put in 2x1) will they increase the speed of my current (stock 27000 RPM) motor?

will it be bad for my motor?

and if it doesnt increase the speed then which motor does anyone suggest?
and what would be a good FET/motor set up?

i would like to add speed to my car. not a whole balls load but im thinkin around double what I have now, probably a little more.

thank you very much

Fets will increase acceleration but not top speed. They allow more current to flow to the motor to get it up to speed but your top speed will still be limited by the maximum voltage of your batteries.

No, the top of the fet may bubble a bit.
the fet usually just appears to have a burnt spot on top when they fry.

I've replaced a lot of burned FETs. I've even seen one split entirely in half when it went.

Sometimes when a FET burns it can do damage to a board. Thats why I recommend having a little safety margin especially if your talking about a mini-Z board.
