Default lipo question

i plan on running a 2s saddle pack.

i know the max voltage the board can handle is 8.4v witch equals a 2s lipo as fully charged they are 8.40? volts but what about the c rating? what is the highest c rating the board/stock motor or upgraded motor could take? i see alot of people using 10c batteries but that just seems low to me... in my hobby grades i run a 28c pack and a 40c pack.

if i have to stack fets that's fine but even then could they handle a 40c battery?
how bout a "hot" motor or stock motor? could they handle the power? or would they toast?

Your car can handle a lipo battery with any amount of "C" rating. C is the current the batteries can flow or its maximum discharge rate. The reason 10c is just as good as anything else is because unlike voltage, the motor will only pull a certain amount of current and no motor is going to draw more than 10C. Your board and motor can take any "C" rating, and they will all yield the same results.

To be more precise, the batteries "C" rating can be multiplied by its capacity and then when that number is divided by 1000, then you get the current the particular battery can flow.

So if the battery rating is 10C and the capacity is 1000mah then that is 10,000, divide that by 1000 and you get 10Amps maximum current flow.

thanks for the clarification.
what is the amp draw from the "hottest" motor for these?

To give you an idea @ 8.4V

Atomic Z2 = 2.8A draw
Atomic T2 = 2.6A draw
Atomic Chili = 3.3A draw (35 turn)

All of these would definitely need FETs to be ran.

these numbers are just so minimal its just all new to me...
im used to the big boys such as the castle creations systems, tekin systems and the vxl systems.
thanks for the help, guess a 10c battery will be PLENTY on this platform.

Yes indeed, those numbers are from atomicmods. They tested all their motors so if you just search a motor on atomicmods, at the bottom it will show the rpm and the amp draw at various voltages.

Hope this all helps. The micro RC world is definitely different from other scales.

sure is, how long do you think a 500mah lipo will last in something this small?
i have a 3s 11.1 1550mah lipo in my rc18T and i can get id say at least 20mins of runtime on this battery
i have a savage flux that i have 2x 2s 7.4 8000mah lipo's in it and i can get close to 45+mins of runtime.

For my Mini-Z MA-010, a 500mah battery lasts around 25 minutes.

good job action! +1 for ya,
anyways, savage think of it this way,
a fast crawler motor i the bigg world(35t) is the one of the fastest of the small racing rc world, lol going 6mph with a crawler for an hour= going 40+mph for around 20 mins on a micro

got them installed let me know what you think... car is quick motor gets slightly warm but the board and battery's are cool to the touch.
i have one more modification up my sleeve that ill be showing in the morning... ill post pics of the car in the garage section aswel.
i was in a rush when i made the saddle pack that's in the car so as you can see i accidentally soldered the plugs opposite of what they should be... the female should always be on the battery side. you can see that in the pic of the pack by itself that i fixed that with the second saddle pack i made.
