opening a 180 can?
Hey guys I recently found this old airplane 180 motor lying around and today i decided to open it up.... The only problem is I CANT! I have used a vice, blowtorch, screwdrivers, knives, is there any practical way to open it without destroying all that is inside of it? Its pretty much a dead motor so i dont really care for the can or the endbell, just the arm and magnets, any ideas?....practical ones?

Looks like you should be able to bend the tabs out. Unsolder the yellow caps and push down on a hard surface and push the endbell out of the can. It looks like the one side of the enebell might be soldered to the can.

actually thee arent any tabs lol, that thing that looks like a tab. I ripped that open with a screwdriver, but still I cant pry it out I will try to unsolder it like you said.
EDIT: I opened it!!! It put it into a vice slipped a screwdriver into the slot I made then whacked it with a hammer! I know it sounds a bit violent but hey, its open now, It turns out that in order to open it you have to pull of the metal shield on the end then expose the plastic endbell behind the metal shield then you pull it off finaly exposing the armature and the magnets
