E-Revo: 1/16th vs 1/10th?
I have $350 to spend at my LHS. To get me into a full size E-Revo with batteries and a charger will cost me $550 and I don't have the spare $200 to spend on RC. So, should I wait another year and get the full size E-Revo or should I just go get the 1/16th (Brushless, of course) E-Revo? What do you guys think?
This will be used for bashing primarily. Like hardcore, off my roof stuff. If I go with the 1/16th, is there any benefit to going with the cheaper (non BL) one and spending the difference (plus the extra money) on upgrades/aftermarket stuff? It would have to be spent at my LHS though (giftcard)?

Well, from what ive heard the 1/10 e-revo has a very weak front chassis brace and rear chassis brace which breaks alot under pressure... i say, go with the 1/16th, because that tiny demon is FAST as as you may know you can put a 1/10 scale BL system on it making it even faster. not sure an durability on the 1/16th, but if you want durable go for a Associated rc18.. very durable.. just watch this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW3ik4JU2FM and the results of that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77XhW...eature=channel insane how only 1 part actually broke still i say go with the 1/16th revo

Sweed - this one from Horizon Hobby:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...source=froogle Claims no tax and free shipping, the kit is RTR with everything except the battery stick and charger. The RC Hobby one appears to be an identical deal: http://www.rcplanet.com/ProductDetai...RA5605&click=3 So looks like no matter what you are going to have to buy batteries and charger. They have a bunch on eBay but the ones with batteries and chargers: http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-E-Revo-R...item230471798e are around 6-700 bucks.....

I like the 1/16 alot better cause the size of it. I have the BL and it is fun as hell. The most weakest part in it is probably the A-arms but RPM came out with them and they will be out next month. I have shot it down a pretty steep hill and it went flying bounced did some barrel roles and it kept going lol.

If you're looking to get into the 1/10 Revo, are you going brushless or brushed?
The 1/10 Revo brushless's aren't happy unless they are running off of dual Li-Po's, that's the only way you can run them. Li-Po's for those are NOT cheap. You'd have to spend probably $800 or more getting the truck, batteries and charger. The brushed one should run fine on NiMH batteries though. For bang for the buck, get the 1/16th. If you have a good place to run it, you won't be disappointed. 50+mph out of the box with dual batteries in series, and plenty of fun on a 2s Li-Po. Just invest in a couple sets of control arms for until RPM comes out with better ones. Also, thicker shock oil and better springs would be a good idea. |

rpm should have them out i think it said 1.04.10 so i am getting them right away. If you want speed then I would recommend a heatsink just to be safeer

Needs stiffer springs/thicker oil and more ride height. Chassis smacks from like four foot drops and this thing is gonna see 20+ foot jumps... For everyone else that posted links, thanks for reading. I had $350 in gift cards for my LHS, not cash to spend online. If it was cash, I'd have a tattoo on my back.
