New wheels and tires on the way for the MERV, and some new pics.
HPI SS Monster wheels:
HPI V-Groove M tires Really hoping these things grip well, it's going to give it a much wider stance as well so hopefully roll overs will be less. Just wanted a better street tire so I don't wear the stocks down, the stocks seem great for dirt and loose surfaces, hopefully these will be all I need for now. Just a few pics as well: New Era's wheelie bar, works pretty darn good for the few minutes I have on it. It's been way too cold to run, and I can't hook up for anything when it's cold. Just some random holes that I cut for cooling purposes, not sure why they didn't open them up here from the factory.. lots of people just cut out the front and rear windshields but I didn't want to go that far yet. I'd like to get the Proline Slipstream and try my hand at a paint job on a lexan body.. never done it before. I'd probably just do an all black one anyway. looks really good man. might have missed it but where are the new tires?
are you going to put different tires on the wheelie bar. looks like you could prolly use rc airplane tires. more bouncy |

Bah, apparently I can't hotlink pictures from Tower.. give me a minute and I'll have them up. I'm actually thinking of ordering the Traxxas wheelie bar wheels, the red ones probably.. but the ones on it are fairly bouncy and seem to work pretty good.
I'll get those pictures up in a minute.. Edit: Fixed pics. Last edited by ling427ttvette; 10-12-2009 at 10:32 PM.. |

Just got them in today. Got them mocked up, haven't glued them yet..
Apparently not all new tires come with foam inserts. Last time I bought tires they did, so I didn't even think about getting them. It seems fine without them, but I'm going to find and order some.. But, it looks killer.. gave it a MUCH wider stance, and I ran it the way it sits.. roll overs didn't happen, it went up on two wheels and came back down at the most. It handles SOO much better now. Now, I get to find foams and order them.. agh. Edit: Sorry for no good pics right now, my camera batteries are fubar. I charge them, put them in the camera and it reads they are dead and shuts off.. so, I'll get some new tomorrow and get some pics. The other picture I took of a direct front shot won't send, of course. Last edited by ling427ttvette; 10-16-2009 at 08:41 PM.. |

Dang that looks pretty good! Might have to try that combo. Traxxas emailed and they're replacing my ESC for free so after about 2 months of no running it I will finally have it up and running like the rest of y'all!

lol well thats good to hear. traxxas is pretty cool to fix it for free. i would cry with out mine lol.
oh as for the central diff dont go for one unless you know the right diff oils to use. i have 10 in the front 100 in the middle and i think 30 in the back and on my 11.1v lipo the fronts still balloon alittle. But again i love the stance |
