We need video!

I was just running the RC18 and I'm afraid to give it full throttle with just NiMH and a 380-brushless.. This 550-sized LiPo'ed Revo is going to disintegrate if you hit anything!

I'm hoping the 20C is enough, too. I wanna see this thing running.

Cheers,
Kyle.

What capacity are you using? Hopefully over 2000mah. I've never (well, we've never) run that vehicle with a 1/10th system (you're crazy BTW lol). I'm not sure how much current it's going to draw. Pull over every few minutes to check the battery temp...max is 140F. I would shut down at 120F though. Let me know what you find please. I'll pass the info along to the other techs here and it'll help us help our customers. BTW...where'd you get a mount for a 540 motor? I have a Revo and have been thinking about doing something nutty like this. lol
The e-mail I got back from Castle..

So, time to invest in that temp gun for sure and be extremely careful for the first run.. got to order a control arm too.. dust + cement + high speeds and poles don't mix.

So, once I figure out what I need to spend.. get some funds gathered up for it and order the temp gun and some control arms for spare, then I'll finally get some video.

I'll try to hold you guys over with a video of the stock VXL on Li-Po's even though I am sure they are plentiful on Youtube.

well being that you are using lipo if the battery gets that hot you better grab a camera throw that car as far as you can and get a good pic of the explosion....

deffinientaly get a temp gun. duratrax sells a simple one its blue. i use it all the time on the merv. if you can find a lipo like the one i have 11.1v at 1300mah its fast as f*** but my dad uses a 2000mah at 7.4v faster than stock. I forgot the name but there is a company that makes handmade LiPos and they are higher than i think 3000mah

Was it from Joe Ford from CC? Very nice and helpful guy over there. I'm waiting to get a Neu 1112 1Y for mine, not going Tenbol like everyone else, going Neu in mine for real power with the stock mount(and a Quark ESC) But still lookin nice, must be beastly.

That thing is going to be nuts with a MM! I have the mini slash, and that thing is hard enough to control with the 380 VXL!! Couldnt imagine a 1/10 scale BL setup
