Here's the way I've done it,
cut these parts off and drill out holes. and Cut these parts off so it fits in the rear deck. After that, you won't have issue with dogbones slippage. |

It's not perfect, but the holes are lined up. Assembly soon! EDIT: Bad news...already...There's one thign i've realised while assembling the chassis is that the rear holes were drilled out wrong, they are too wide. So I'll have to use the stock rear deck since I don't feel like starting a new chassis again! Last edited by c1v1c; 01-25-2009 at 12:23 AM.. |

UPDATE
I decided to ditch the custom chassis for now, too much trouble for nothing... Anyways, I got it to work perfectly now. It's based on a stock gen1, Swapped the rear suspension geometry It's RWD Has sealed Bearings and some GPM goodies. Plenty ennough of suspension travel I used a hacked pn pan car body don't bother about the paintjob, I screwed up... Right now, it has a stage2 motor in it which is, IMO it's too quick and uncontrolable. So I think i'll just swap back to the stage1 motor sometimes soon. tight turns mod wouldn't be a bad idea either. thanks for watching! |

Not faster, actually it's way slower, which tends to give me better handling.

This is a great project.
I've always felt that the rear suspension on the gen1 really comprimises the handling. For some reason all the ones I have had seem to go light on the inside rear wheel when cornering, which makes slowing down and accelerating whilst turning somewhat unpredictable. I would imagine your set up is much better and more consistent in corners? It certainly looks more stable just looking at the pictures. Another good thing about it is that you could change the rear toe angle. |
