lipo charger question please read now

How long would it take to charge lipo batteries on a 8.4 volt charger at a rate of 200mA.

hmm. you might risk overcharging them with that since lithium is 7.4 volt.

but rule of thumb. take your battery pack mah rating divided by the cahrger mah rating. so if you have a 1400 mah batterypack, and a 200 mah charger. thats 7 hours. 1400 / 200 = 7
2000 mah pack would be 10 hours, 400 mah pack 2 hours. etc. and out of curiosity are you using a balancer as well?

A what? I am using an eBay pack with an eBay charger so i dont know if it has one.

ahh, probly not. most lipo packs have a balancer cable that you hook the balancer up to, so that as you charge it evens out the charge in cell.

You should just buy an Atomic charger. The ebay charger is junk, and has been known to overcharge, and cause batteries to explode.

I didn't even know that, when I had eBay liths, the light was red the whole time, and it made a funny noise

A red light and a funny noise are never a good sign... It will usually tick and go boom afterwords!

heres my setup for my lipos. most low end lipos dont have the balancer cables on them. most packs you get at a hobby shop have them on it. this battery pack is a 1320 mah lipo pack, 2 cell 7.4 v. the balancer hooked to it insures an even charge and voltage to both cells. and its hooked to a smart charger from atomicmods.
if you have an ebay lipo pack for xmods, just get a smart charger. dont worry about a balancer. i think mine was around 50 bucks or something like that.

got mine at my lhs. both the battery and balancer. but im looking into a better charger. this one does its job but 3 hours to charge is 3 hours i usually dont have to watch over it charging.
