You only fried the forward/reverse FETs, the steering has a different set of FETs. Btw, why would you even try 9v...? Thats just plain stupid.

well if im thinking about this right, you could wire 2 stock battery trays togather and still have 6v (pos. to pos. neg to neg.) but if you wanted 12v you would run (pos. to neg.) and you would get a 12v pack but if you do it the way i first stated then it might be safe due to the fact your still only using 6v but you would have double the run time...i think

No, or just change the board entirely. If you want a easier fix, just buy a new car. But thats not worth it, as FETs can be stacked for $20. Which is real good.

Get a relay...
9v is heavy and will last about 10 seconds on a modified car. Good for those dyno darlings who can't lay it out anywhere besides the checker

Get a V2.2 for this. It can handle up to 30v. The NELLY maximum is 12v so that would be pushing it to the limit and I wouldn't gamble my money that way. You can wire 2 battery trays together without doubling the volts (parallel) Its a fine mod for a TRUCK.
