All I know is my Mini-z AM crystals pick up a TON of interference. I swapped it for an Xmod crystal, worked fine.

I never heard that, but if it's true I got a bunch of Xmod crystals. Thanks for the tip. I never really gave that any thought, I just had the Mini-Z crystal in the board.

*** UPDATE ***

Well some good news and some bad news. First the bad news, I fried the servo fets on my PCB. I was doing some testing and I had a wire wrong or touching somthing, not quite sure, and it fried. So i will have to get that fixed which will put us behind a bit.

Good news. I got some stuff in the mail today. 2 Atomic Chilli Evo motors 1 for this project, an extra one and a Stock R for another project. Also got some more CF in as well.

So this is pretty BA. I put the Chilli in (after doing this: http://www.atomicmods.com/Categories...rush-Flip.aspx) I had to wire it to a Xmod board with the V2.2. I got it up to 97 kmh (60.27 mph) I had to hold the transmitter in one hand and the camera in the other and it dropped down to 91 kmh (56.54 mph) when I took the pic.

SOOOOOoooo fast. These tires SHREADED, and they were tire glue'd to the rims. All those little black dots on the speedchecker photo are bits of tire. I was able to run for about 12 seconds before I felt like the motor needed to go to the fan for some cool down.

So, I could be doing finished testing but we will have to wait till I can get another Mini-Z PCB. Next update will be body stuff (lights in, chrome, decals, etc.)

You should try mounting a small fan, that sometimes come with 540 size motor heatsinks, so it won't overheat so fast.

i think you should not have the fan. this is suposed to be a drag car with small run times. in fact, i think you should take some material off of the motor strap/heat sink.

HUH, The motor gets so hot it needs to sit on the fan. I don't understand what your saying. (The fan is not part of the car, if that's what you were thinking) The motor is blazing hot after 8-11 seconds. (Notice 4 Lith cells thats like 15v going straight to the motor) Does that clear it up. Let me know.

You can buy small PC fans at RadioShack. Try hooking one up to the CLL connector and set it up on top of the motor.

Yeah, I have one. But it looks to cluttery. I am gonna stick with the pit fan.

i think a small pc fan attatched directly to the heatsink's side and connected directly to your power input wires wouldn't be too cluttery and it would take some strain off the motor while cooling it down
it's the same setup as industrial grade robotics ESC's use (i'm in First robotics, aka FRC)
