May have killed my board?
After my car stopped going forward yet again, I decided to try to resolder the fets yet again. Well I did so with no positive results I think my fets may be trash (stupid ebay stacked board..) Anywhos while'st wicking some excess solder off the motor pad I noticed a bridge between the motor pad and one of the N pads. I may have broken the separation or something. Is this normal or is my board screwed? Btw it's the left pad closest to the motor pad.
BTW I'm running a plasma motor on a supposed 2x2 stacked board. I'm skeptical about the fets now. I will probably buy new ones. |

well, it is kinda obveous if it has 2x2 fets. just count how many are stacked up. if they are all there, look at the number on the fets. they may be bad fets for stacking, such as stock fets. check the number and post it on here. im sure someone around here is an fet master and knows what kind is good.

Your board is from supracing right? That guy is formerly known as Chaohu, he is a rip. Sells bad lithium kits that'll randomly have discharge fits and fry your board, and his 2x2 stacked boards have the wrong numbers for xmods and will fry extremely easily. Check some services threads, or websites, they'll stack FETs the right way for you. If you need some FET numbers to stack yourself shoot me a pm.
Edit: Yeah and if it was on the motor pad something probably went wrong

DCCRACING I know its a 2x2 stack I meant that I'm skeptical about what kinda fets he used to stack and merc3des confirms that notion. They're probably bad fets that's been giving me ALOT of trouble. I've ordered another stack from automizzi and I'm just waiting for them now.
Thanks guys that helped alot. I am however still wondering if it's for the fet to bridge with the motor pad. I'll post a pic later. |

The FETs may have overheated, and melted crappy solder, flowing on to the pad. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case, because his FETs fry extremely easily, and most likely reach ridiculous temperatures.

Please excuse the messy board. This is what I mean. There is usually a tiny separation between the fet and the motor pad as on the right. However, as I was wicking solder off the motor pad I may have broken that separation as on the left. I want to know if that's safe or if I need a whole new board. |

As long as you didn't turn on the board, I've never really seen this happen, so I couldn't tell you what damage it does. After your done soldering, you should always check what you soldered for mistakes etc, because small mistakes can take out your board.

yeah so far it has been just the n channel on my board with the ebay stack. It has been a problem even while running a Sprint motor which my friend's stock board ran fine even though the wires became hot enough to melt his electronics cover plate.
