Default F-1's Custom Snow Plow

Well I have been working on this since basically that first thread about the snow plows was posted. I started it then I didn't work on it for a month or two until yesterday and today. Bute this is what I have so far. I am planning on putting some jewlery chain on it but didn't get to it yet. I just got it mounted on my Bronco. Well here are some pictures.

I made the plow out of some red plastic that I use at work. I don't konw of an actual name or anything we just call it red board. Because it comes in sheets that are like 8-10ft long and 2-3ft wide and 2in thick. It's some heavy stuff. I just asked my boss if I could have a little scrap piece.

Are you going for function? Because it looks 'usable' with a servo motor

What do you mean by funny lookin? The color yea I know, my dads old plow used to be red so it does really bother me but I might paint it.

Yea it's ajustable. I might paint it black along with the mounts with it. I originally thought of putting more than one screw in it to hold it to the left, right, and straight but the one screw is actually pretty tight. It would take either a lot of snow or a hard hit to turn it.

I was going more for looks and somthing to have on it when driving it but not necessarily to actually plow snow. I don't have any motor upgrades besides the stage 2. I'm sure it would probably plow snow havn't tried to. I could try it with a junk f150 truck that I have that has a few problems and see if it does work.

Thanks
I still have to do a few touch up also kind of a rough slap together to see if my idea works.

Looks good!
You should connect it to your tie-rod so it turns with the wheels.

Awesome idea! It might look a bit better lifted higher, like I think some chassis's are higher than others, I'm not sure though. Maybe a different body would work better, too. I love it!

I could lift it but I think I would have to make another bottom piece for the plow to drop it closer to the ground.

Good idea but I don't think I will do it. Would be cool to have something that could turn the plow without the tires turing it.

where's the vid?

I give the credit to whoever started the plow thing on here because to be quite honest they are the reason I made this plow. I seen some pics and I got this idea that I have and thought it would be cool.

I'm going to try and work on it again tonight and post more pics if I get that far LOL

Sorry about the Double Post

I did work on it and got the chain on and working. I got it so it can hold the plow up and then I can lower it.

I know I will probably get yeld at for using a gold chain but that's all I could find. I see if I can throw some paint on it within the next few days.

Here are some pix

Here it is with the plow up

And here it is with the plow down

wow that is turning out great now this motivates me to build a plow for my xmod. i like how that looks like my friends dads bronco except his is black. you could try to make the little light bar thing from behind the plow, that would look awesome with working CLL lights hooked up to them, and how did you mount the supports for the to the truck?

Nice. I'd try and de-fake-gold the chain. Other than that, a few snow plow warning lights and it's good to snow.

I just used the screws for the shocks. I'll post some pics if you want to see. I just noticed some of the other pics that I posted you can kind of see how I mounted it!!

I was thinking about spraying the chain with some silver spray paint that I have.

My dads plow has the light bar on it to and I thought about it but havn't really put any thought into it yet. I'll see what I can do, the model came with some fog lights for the roof I think? I'll investigate
