Tamiya DF-01
Hi yall. i bought i tamiya df-01 and i just built it and bought the electric stuff. But when i turn on the recevier on the car, wether or not the transmitter is even on, its will beep then it will just move forward at full speed without any control. It doesnt steer or anything. The only way to stop it is to turn it off. I programed it and everything but it doesnt affect it in anyway... Help? I really want to drive this thing ill get some pictures later

Do you have the JST plugs that go from ESC/Servo to receiver switched? Remember, servo to channel one and ESC to channel two. If incorrectly plugged in the steering center will act as power to the motor; since a steering wheel is "center" it will power up to half throttle.
I'm guessing that's what the problem is. I forget all the time, too.

What ESC and receiver are you using? (model and brand, please.)

this is the esc it came with the car kit.(tamiya teu-101bk)
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/images...a_tt01_esc.jpg this is the reciever i bought today (futaba r152je) http://www.rcplanet.com/v/vspfiles/p...FUTL0206-1.jpg i just noticed the screechng noise is comming from the motor but the motor works somthing is holding it back.... and not allowing me to control anything. It doesnt make this noise when the motor is turning only when the motor isnt turning, which is the first 5-10 seconds i turn it on

I want to go out on a limb and say you're having a BEC problem. BEC stands for Battery Eliminator Circuit. Most modern receivers have an internal BEC component which draws a certain amount of voltage for each electronical component (ESC, Receiver, Motor, Servo) off of the same battery. Without BEC, the receiver will be over powered and cancel out many, if not all, commands and give all of the power to another component (in this case the motor).
Try hooking up the Futaba Dry 4 Cell Receiver Pacl and see if that resolves any of your issues. With this battery pack hooked up to your receiver, the receiver and servo will be powered off that battery pack rather than your SubC battery pack which will now only power your ESC and motor. I do this on my Stampede because the SubC battery pack does not provide sufficient power to both my ESC/Motor combo and Receiver/servo combo and it acts in a similar manner without this dry cell pack.

it still isnt working.... when i turn it on with either power source pluged in the servo will move wether or not the controller is on. Im getting frustrated at this. Even if i unplug the esc and only try with that battery pack and a servo the servo will still not move. That battery didnt change anything...

it had the speed controler with it.. And the reciever and battery cost about 65$ and with that it was running (in theory)
So the total cost was about 245$ heres the one i bought (there still 25 left) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290264776597

i see. well, i found another guy selling them for $170 with all that stuff, so if i salvage parts from my jacked up rustler i can have it for only $170.
back on topic, though: toy (wal-mart grade) rc car chargers can actually charge most hobby grade batteries. so look around for one with the right kind of plug.
