Yea it is fun stock except the battery life, get some bearings and loosen the transmission screws for some better run time, threaded axles are a great first upgrade. For a motor get the new Atomic bb2, faster than stock and provides more run time, then lipo for faster and better run times. I go with the Micro Dt it has a couple new lipo batteries coming out for it this month that are bigger and wont fit in any of the others, 7.2v 300mah and a 11.1v 200mah(need brushless setup to run it thought, only the 11.1v lipo) the lipo out now is 7.2 volts 180mah

They are fast stock. I have lipo and a bb1, bearings, and threaded axles on my dt and every time i drive my track car i feel like i am in slow motion. lol. They wil go about 30 with lipo, bearings, and the highest gearing on a Bb2.

Yes i am sure, with the new setup:
Micro dt, bearings, threaded axels, carbon fiber chassis, losi brushless esc, 10250 or the team orion 10300, and the new 11.1v lipo should be able to reach 40-50.

Not really speed demons at that scale, cause your never going to be hitting that unless your doing straight lines ( and thats no fun now is it ). So if thats what your looking for stick to xmods... or onroad hobbygrades...
