Well remember, Pro Pulse is a RC18 knock off. Ooh a ferrari nano. I might just have to get it and compare it to my Zip Zap.

Here is another Real Drive, I think it is 1/20 since it says 1/20 on the box

And the nano. I like the Enzo. B1G sorry if I am jacking your thread. Just wanted to post pics.

Can you post a link to the mini's? I can't find it.

Just to update you all:

I took the chassis for the red evo apart, I removed the motor and put an Evo S1 in instead, wired it in using gen1 motor wires, it required a bit of body cutting to get it in place.

Out of the chassis the motor spins but is very slow! In the chassis the motor bits a little but doesn't even turn the wheels! I don't think anything is catching... I think its more the care doesn't have the power from its whole 3volts worth of batteries to turn the motor!

Thoughts?

Top speed on the Subaru Impreza was a whopping 10KM/h or 6MPH.... wow..... breathtaking!

That sucks! Maybe not getting enough power to turn the wheels? ELA's today, tomorrow and thursday that's how I am on. B1G, can you post a link to them, I can't find the website.

OK guys using the 40MHz Lancer Real Drive RC car this is where I am at!

I've snipped of the lights and used them in my CLL modification tutorial.
I've wired in an Evo stage 1 motor.
I've taken the whole car apart and wired in a pro-harness to the power board.
I have liths coming from BLT which I'll connect and see what happens!! My guess is a fire!!

Here are a few pictures:

Stage 1 motor:

Crazy steering control:

Small cog on motor turns big cog which turns tie rod and bingo left and right steering.

Reminder of what the stock wiring looks like:

Taking the boards out:

This is the power board:

It has the on / off switch on it and its what I've re-wired to have a pro-plug.

Finished power board:

Almost finished car:

So in the final shot the power board is back in the car and is the bigger board, my skills on identify what stuff does aren't what they used to be! The larger board powers the servo and is feed power from the power board but other than that I don't really know what it does...

I have to admit I am a little worried of what the outcome of this is going to be! The board in numerous places is labeled as requiring a 3v input, if thats its max I'm going to smoke it when I plug the 7.4volt liths in to it!

Thoughts?

I'd make the wiring a little "prettier" before I even though of hooking up 7.4V Lithium-Chem batteries into that board. Not only will the board not be able to handle it, all those solder joints are going to heat up fairly quickly and cause a major disturbance electronically. Hopefully your Lithiums don't go "KABOOM!. We like you as a moderator, we don't need your hands blown off.

I tided up the motor wiring and I still to need to wire in three of the 'spare' wires - all three of them provide a connection from the power board to the larger board, in the last picture you can see them next to the deans plug. The long red wire was originally attached to one of the battery trays - obviously I have removed them so I just soldered it onto the deans plug joint.

Maybe I'll try a stock battery tray instead of the liths - be ashame to waste a brand new set!

Project:- Real Drive Update.

OK finally got around to finishing the soldering! Put the chassis back together and hooked up an gen1 battery holder with two batteries in it so as to keep the voltage just under 3 volts.

Turned the car on and.....

and.....

..... absolutely nothing! Some either I re-wired it incorrectly or somewhere along the way I broke it or its needs more juice!

I think either way my final conclusion about these things is that they are cheap crap!

Project:- Real Drive Update.

Wired a 4-cell evo tray up to the car turned it on and something smoked! Not sure which one of the cheap components it was but there is a nice acid smell currently floating through my house....

Oops!
