Do you want a pistol grip or a stick radio?
Will this Tamiya High Lift be more crawler speed (5mph) or will it be more of a basher speed (~15-20mph.)?

Futaba. I swear by Futaba products and this is one of their best four-channel two stick radios out there. You will need at least three channels to run the Tamiya High-Lift but Futaba does not make a three channel two stick radio (that I know of).
HiTec HS-645MG. That's the servo I use in my Axial AX10. It's a great servo; pretty quick speed for the amount of time it needs to generate all that torque. HiTec HS-5645MG. Or you could go a step higher and purchase this servo. ---- If you're going with a mud/trail truck then why do you want a stick radio? A stick radio is more for crawling than it is for trailing. A pistol would do you better for a mudder since you will need a faster response time that a pistol grip would allow you to have. Sticks have some slower response and are mainly used just in the flight hobby because they don't need that fast or jittery of reponses. Just my $0.02.

Ah, my appologies. I was thinking of a different scaler where it uses two servos for steering and one for the transmission. The Tamiya High Lift only uses two servos; one for the steering and one for the transmission.
So yes, you'll only need two servos and a radio system (on top of other electronics). But, you'd be much better suited with a four-channel radio up front incase you do decide to convert it to a dual servo setup or wish to have seperate amenities like a winch.
