Project: Titan build up
Will just be installing a HS55 Servo motor into this one for a friend. Sadly my S10 is still down! But Ill run some standard tests to measure torque. Then try it in the rocks as well this weekend if the Servo gets here, and see how it stacked up compared to the S10.

I find the fact that the bed is so low to the chasis, that it cramps the articulation... Hopefully you'll find a way to improve it. And just wondering, what happed to the S-10?

Stripped out the gearbox, didn't think to ever grease it up.
The body will be lifted some to accommodate the servo.

And so the project begins, the servo finally came in.
And, for the comparison between the servo mod, and the Tamiya gearbox, I can almost say for certain, the Tamiya wins. Compare the servo's motor to a 130 motor, and you catch my drift. But so begins the work. Hopefully will have it moving by friday. If things work out, I can give it a helluva work out on the rocks in the yard, like in my S10's video.

Yeh, lost the hood of the S10 long ago. If you have one for the 96+ S10/Sonoma, PM me.
Quote:
All I have to say is, after converting a servo to go 360 degrees around, and such, I still prefer the Tamiya box with the ease of the build. But I got it converted tonight. And made a gear for it from one of the servo horns and a extra slipper-gear piece I had. Waiting for the CA glue to dry. It just might be done before the weekend enough to test. From this mess: To this: And wired up: The gear: The conversion is fully photo-documented for the later Crawler FAQ of doom.

Hot glue?
We all know the rims you have on it are worthless and don't improve performance. Your truck is a ricer. EDIT: How did you get full spin from the servo? The pot doesn't spin 360, but you need it to hold the gears.
