Your first hobby-grade
Like the title says, post your first hobby-grade R/C!
Its posted here because some users may have started off with electric, some with nitro! I'll start off. My first hobby-grade was a Team Associated RC10B4 'Team' kit. I got it in 2003/4 (can't remember exactly. I recently got it running today, even though the ESC I'm using isn't as good as the one I used back then (Novak Dually then, Tamiya TEU-101BK now), the steering servo is top notch. Its stupid-fast! (Futaba S9451). I'm using my SECOND receiver, a JR Racing R135 in it. I used to use an Airtronics one that came with my 75MHz FM MX-3, but that died out a long time ago. Air't transmitter, JR receiver, Tamiya ESC, Futaba steering servo... What a bad combination (its recommended that you stick with one brand) Ah well... I also 'patched' up my first body that I've ever painted. I patched up my old cooling hole for the Novak Dually with electrical tape, I also used zip-ties to keep things together Just for kicks, I put a computer CPU's HSF (heatsink fan) on the body to make it look pretty outrageous I've now got two brand new bodies that I need to paint up, because seriously, would you drive this thing with a body that looks like this? I think not... New bodies! So who's next? |

My first was an A-tech XMT4. Its running stock electronics since I dont use it that much anymore. Im more into 1/10 scale now so the little truggy doesnt get much use. I bought it for $65 shipped brand new rtr, cant go wrong with that lol.

my first electric was a Traxxas Rustler but now its got tons of upgrades..
-my first nitro was a Duratrax Axis buggy..its tuned in perfectly...little story: i used to run it down my street which has alot of traffic (its a main street of a neighborhood) and i would run it after the car go under it and pop out the front and turn away....well one day i tried doing the same thing but thr truck was going to fast for me to pop out so i went to turn away and hit the back tire of the truck disloging my wheel and numerous other things... -wow thats a mouth full..

Forget land RC!
That's my first hobby grade RC. It's an un-named, custom built Nitro RC airplane. It's a pattern plane; so it's fairly quick and makes some nice shows when you feel like hot-doggin' it.

My first was a RS Pro Pulse which doesn't work anymore. Plus it wasn't very hobby grade. A knock off. So my REAL first was a Losi Micro DT. No pics now.

Hm.. I think it was a Traxxas Revo 3.3 as my first.. But I've played with Traxxas Stampedes and Kyosho Nitro Touring cars in the past..
