Default yet another project mini 350z drifter

well i didn;t have a set drift car so now i do. the wife wanted a car she can play around with, but i wanted a drifter to play with also so i compromised. i told her to pick a body and we will come up with something. and she claimed my silver 350z body when i got it a while back from reaper. the body is quite a bit smaller than the normal 350z. i took some comparison pics of the chassis compared to a normal 350z chassis and set the normal body on the chassis. i thought i took a picture of the body i am using but i guess not, ill get one tomorrow. i have the front and rear clips mounted the glue is drying now then i have some shaving tomorrow to the front clip body mount and she will be good to go. well heres some pics

Interesting chassis.... how much flex do you get from it considering the front and rear ends are now two separate pieces??

on the flex i get a little more than i'd like. this plastic is a little soft though. i might cut it out of metal, but this is all i had last night. i also might redesign it so the liths fit better.

Chassis is interesting, but why try and squeeze the clearly big 350z onto it? Try RSX or NSX for a better fit.

^^^^ that was just a comparison shot to show how much shorter of a wheelbase this one is to the normal 350z.
the only thing i have run into with acryclic plexiglass in the past was it was brittle. yeah it is more rigid but when i had it on my airboats it would crack real easily

i had to shave the front wheel wells a little bit. they were rubbing a little. and whats sad is by painting it i lose the sponsor names. they are actually painted on.

update time, i am working on masking the windows to paint her so i got some pics of her mounted. i need to lower the front suspension a little bit. i got to looking after taking the pic and it has the raising front suspension mount on it so i think if i put the lowering piece on it will be good.

nows its time to finish masking and lay some paint

that sits pretty clean. once you drop the front it will be amazing. if its your drifter, whats your plan for all wheel drive? assuming you have it of course...

even shorter, i had to take about 3/8 out of the chassis e.p. to get it right.

started playing with the airbrush. i found some colors that i had the were transparent colors. which means than i can change the color of the car and retain the sponsors. here's after a few coats.

update time:
the dog knocked the body off the washer sometime throught the night and some crap dried into the paint, so i had to take it back down to original. i figured i would for sure lose the sponsor names, but i got lucky, i was able to use enamel thinner and qtips and get it back to the original color and start over.
so i laid 3 very thin coats of i think it was called turn signal amber, names starting to wear off. it is a transparent paint for coloring turn signals on models. it ended up turning out very nice. turned the silver into this goldish amberish color and still left the sponsors. so i am happy. then laid a few coats of wet clear.
I got the 4wd installed. i used champagne swingshafts all the way around and full ball bearing and a custom carbon fiber drive shaft. thankfully i got the shaft in there perfectly. and lowered the front just a little, cant go much more or the tires will rub.
now i just need to mount the electronics and lithium batteries. possibly later tonight.
picture time

Hey you don't need my CF. I really like that chassis, I like how it is rounded. It looks real cool. I could make the CF exactly like that, that would be tight. Cool car man, what is that body originally from.

lol, yeah the chassis looks cool and all but i think the single piece chassis would make it look neater, i''ll think about that thought. and the body came from an rc bought from a store like walmart in the u.k.
