well this hobby shop i go to got my body and wing in. and while i was there picked up a few more items. a new spur gear, had a spare already, and ordered 2 more. at 7 bucks a piece. i can replace quite a few before it equals the 65 bucks they want for a metal gear.
and the body i decided on was the desert rat. going to try to paint it this weekend. also picked up the clutch / pinion shaft support, and ordered bearings. theres a little bit of side to side play, so i think i'll replace it. also ordered some brakes and theres a peice that goes between the rotors the appears to have came off. lol. so its on order too.
