Default project "HIGH" roller

figure it out for yourself (if you can understand the diagram...).

i need basically two xmods, so that means two controllers, eight AAAs and two 9vs. it's worth it, though.

I think you need another hobby. that was hilarious. Buy a rc plane. same price or less than 2 Xmods. LMAO.

yeah, and you will. just as soon as my lds (local dollar store, lol) gets some styrofoam planes in stock. then i'll spend a few days building and maybe a week or so troubleshooting, and hopefully i'll have some videos. (i hope this will be eligible in the next comp!)

do you have any idea how heavy 8 aaa bats are. and 2 xmods are? and 2 xmod motors are? and you think thats all going to fly.

Xmod motors dont SPIN fast enough!

the plane will be TOO HEAVY!

its going to be a huge flop, and nose dive to the ground, resulting in a broken styrofoam plane.

I like the idea, but you need to go WAY more advanced that a little xmod.

You need light weight batterys, a small lithium with a charger. You need high power motors that spin like freaking crazy. the proper shapped propellers. super light weight electronics. and smaller ones than the xmod offers.

and after you get that, get it to hold a flight time, and fly straight with the motors propelling it, how do you think your going to go about turning it? or is it going to be a straight flying only plane?

im not trying to say dont do this, cool idea. but dont kill 2 perfect xmods for a Epic Failure. You need more high dollar parts and technology than cheap xmods offer.

plus i doubt a dollar store plane is strong enough to support this no matter what.

Why not go buy a air hogs? i think they sell for like 30 bucks now days, and they will be 10 times better than anyhting you can make. for less than half the price it would cost you to get anything half way functional

Good luck. Make sure you get the weight distribution right, if you don't it'll be a freak to control.

yoou need BIG wings for all that weight so you can get plenty of lift. and if you going to put all the stuff on the wings wont that disrupt the air flow and give as much flight time as a rock? talk to donzii he knows a lot about about planes.

it looks like a fun endeavor, but one of the biggest parts of building a plane is to keep weight down, which means minimizing batteries, electronics, etc. that'll be awesome of you get it to work though. how are you going to work 2 controllers at one time? =P

I just micro t electronics, they are smaller and lighter, you could always wire 2 servos together for wings(lift them up or down, can't think of the name?)and use the micro motors for propellers, i'd suggest the bb1 or the bb2, they are faster and will last longer. The lipo battery is very light too.

Give it a shot. Best case scenario, it works great, you prove us all wrong, and hummer can finally shut his speak hole. Worst case....just think big flames....

Use Depron, that's what I would use. Make it look like an Xmod and use plane or heli parts lol. Take apart an Air Hogs Twin Thunder or Revell Fire Strike, make a car shaped foam thing(in the shape of an XMOD, and then put the heli pieces in it!

it's just accelerating them. to turn right i let up on the right engine one and vice versa. i'll just have one in each hand.

for all you people saying it will be hard to control, won't stay in the air, etc., you should know that it's not meant for long flights and tricks, it's entirely to do something new, whether it works well or not.

Gee thats not spam is it? Lipo. Wow.

Back on topic, I love this idea, whether it works or not, try it. Don't give up even if you are postponing it.

You can wire up the motors to the same board, they would just lose power. You may need to go hobby grade, forget it, you need hobby grade and at least 4s lipo.

you'll have to use lipo, 6x2 stacked FETs and a crazy 12t motor in two high speed bb cans (xmod magnets work)
then you'll have to build a hollow depron fuselage and wing structure and everything. then your props have to be the right size and shape, there's adjustment for thrust alighment to keep the plane flying straight and level, there's also the issue of controlling this thing. it's be so much easier if you could link the motors and the elevator together so that when you add throttle, the elevator pulles the plane up a bit, and when you steer, it actuates two servos to move the airleons, rolling the plane.
then for stability, you'll want dihedral or polyhedral wing shape.
it'll have to be as light as it can be without falling apart when you pick it up.
imo it's really not as easy or simple as you may think.

i myself have an rc helicopter and i can tell you that the motor spins insanely fast. it has an xmod size 9 tooth brass pinion spinning a HUGE 4.5 inch diameter gear that's connected to the rotor. now how fast do you think that is?

Plausible. I think you need to study how a plane works. It more then two motors spinning. Scratch this idea. Its only a waste of your money, two good Xmods and all of our time.

Maybe you should be a comedian. LMAO
