XXX Project *Make your guesses*
Okay I have moved on to 2 new projects since I finished the XXXRay and Im waiting for parts for the others.
One project is the crawler I have been wanting to do. It will have a Jeep body. (check out my thread "XXX Project JawDroppinJeepCrawlin") Here is the other one. Before I let you know EXACTLY what it will be I would like your input and guesses as to what it will be and where you think it will go. Here is a teaser photo. ***UPDATE*** ***UPDATE*** *** CORV-X DRAGSTER *** Some more mockup done to the CorveX Dragster: *** UPDATE *** /// *** UPDATE *** Mocked up the top tray, and layed out the Mini-Z board. (I am thinking of trying out the spider thingy instead of the V2.2 board on this one) Last edited by TripleXmodder(akaXXX); 12-22-2008 at 12:29 AM.. |

Yup, didn't think it would be hard to figure out but wanted some input. I plan to make this a very clean build, with lots of upgrades much like my XXXRay. It will have a very short run time (only Seconds) just long enough for a drag race, it will need to reach top speed fast, then sit on a fan to cool it down I am sure. I can't wait to get this project going. I am hoping to get the front tires off the ground, so alot of testing and running will be done. Ill be sure to post videos when it is done. Funny you say that. I was planning to to the Atomicmods Project X-Z swap and put mini-z electronics in it. what about this Losi 1/36 brushless combo, would that be better. Curious, let me know about it. Thanks.

yah the brushless is way faster, but i've only seen one person do a brushless conversion on an xmod and i don't know how he did it, i don't even remember his name. but sweet project you got going on!

Thanks. I credit XMS for my drive to make and post cool mods. It really incresses the intrest in modding (especially w/ photos) and hope that everyone will strive to post new and more inventive mods. |

I like the drag car idea. We keep talking about buying a house and the ones we have looked at have large rooms with hardwood floors... I might need a drag car for that (and a drifter). Keep the pictures coming

It will have a V2.2 regulated board from atomicmods.com as well. That allows you to run higher volts. I wanted 4 AA Liths but they wont fit, and it will be very heavy anyway.

well, brushless is the fastest and most torquey you can get. so torquey it could deform that beefy wheelie bar
brushless. you know why it's so good? NO BRUSHES=less friction, and it's electronically modulated to produce immense torque and can still top out at an insane speed. get an inrunner brushless motor and get it mounted. no substitute for brushless's power in the drag world. v2s and spiders both fry easy under strain, but you won't be using that. you'll be using hobby grade if you use brushless because brushless uses a special esc that has 3 motor wires. and hobby grade can definitely handle 10.8v cuz the power plugs into the esc rather than the receiver. the esc feed power to the receiver which feeds control and power to the servo, so if the esc can handle it, then you're all set. btw, most BL esc can handle a lot of voltage

Okay, ive decided to go brushless and after talking to someone who knows all about this and configuring what I need to fit into my small 1/28 chassis and still look clean and sleek I think it is all figured out. So i'm gonna save my Mini-Z board for a later project and ...... This is what is going into the Corv-X Dragster: This is the layout: Last edited by TripleXmodder(akaXXX); 12-22-2008 at 07:56 PM.. |

Daaayyyuuuuuuum. That's yummy. I want to see this all together, haha. Are you just gonna use double-stick tape for the electronics so they stay put on the chassis plate?

Not sure yet what exactly Ill have to do. I would like to make a chassis top plate designed to house everything very smoothly. I want it to be very clean and don't want everything just crammed on there taped down. We'll see when I get everything in the mail and start putting it together.
