Default jimmythekids ongoing work projects (to save bandwidth)

well I don't really like doing this type of work any more. I am pretty much burnt out on cars these days. But it does make for some interesting pictures. 2002 VW ****ant, 1.8 turbo blown head gasket.

That's amazing...

I can sit on my fenders and do head gaskets, but you've gotta rip apart that whole **** thing!

Is that 5 valves/cylidner?

As much as you may dislike the work, you should at least be glad that you have a job. Currently a lot of people I know here in Michigan are itchin' for work and simply can't find anything. It's turning into a real mess 'round here.

Although, as much as you dislike your job, you have to admit, you get some pretty interesting pictures out of it.

Lol. VW ****ant.. Lol.

Cheers,
Kyle.

back on topic, looks like a pain. you should warn people not to store gushers in their engine bays.

That leak must've been crazy then if it spilled so much dye outta the bottom of the engine. Or is it just that you have to spray it everywhere?
the leak was actually all interanl. that stuff spewed out when I removed the water pump to remove most of the coolant from the upper engine/head.

So what's the green stuff all over it? Is that like a cleaner you use, or perhaps some other type of fluid for either sealing or cleaning?

Not so much. At 3200 lbs with 170 horses makes it comparable to some other cars you may have heard of...

(thats .053 hp per pound of car for 1.8 turbo passat)

1996 Dodge Neon sport - 2456 lbs with 132 horses (.054 hp per pound)

2000 Hyundai Elantra - 2626 lbs with 140 horses (.053 hp per pound)

2000 Ford Escort - 2478 lbs with 130 horses (.052 hp per pound)

I know that weight to power ratio isn't everything, however, this should put some things into perspective here.

The Mark VIII is a more exceptional vehicle.

Got a few hours in yesterday on this beast. As long as the shops not to busy to day with normal work, I might get the engine out.
