Project: Yellow Hummer Evo Truck
Yes, i am from Portugal...in europe!
Well, i got this car NEW for about 8 months....and now decided to show it off on this forum For what i can tell is that i started on RC on X-mods with this baby!! I had learned so much, and turned this little toy in a true hobby grade RC car. For who know my threads on other forum for x-mods knows what i can do! To many people talk... but in concrete on doing the work done and ready to play... not so many... So my project! -This is where all started....this project is a yellow car, and not that red on the box... that one is another story, that if you like this i will post to! -The back of the stock car.... -The metal bearings upgrade... -Some parts to make the evolution... -More stuff...and what i learned, this car is a very upgradedable one... (xmod) -Well, you have seen this already... it's a working thing, waiting for the real dogbones... but actually worked very well... more to come.... More details... -The working DIY dogbone... -The plastic dogbone and plastic bearings....(bearings?) -The GPM aluminium stuff... -A true "DOGBONE" and real world bearings... Just a little more.... -The gears GPM aluminium and the total back wheel upgrades. -All four done.... to show some more.... -The GPM comes from a better plastic from the stock bearings but real metal bearings, is a much better choice!! -The Front one installed.... -The chassis... -The plastic nuts real needs an update... even with all stock fets and cells and stock motor they tend to fall off.... -An aluminium nuts... never fall off on me.... -Some GPM tires... very soft compared to the stock ones....they ride good actually! -The complete car, for now! more news.... -Front side back... -Back side back.... -Working on a cell upgrade DIY... -The PCB and the needed black wire to cut and wire the cell upgrade... i am going to the 6 cell for now more news: -My new engine.... A video with the wheels on GPM but stock engine and cells. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FNq9JuYdWE Last edited by targetingxmod; 01-21-2015 at 05:48 PM.. Reason: small changes in writing |

The 6 cell upgrade had made my engine....broken.... (that was not the 6 cells upgrade)
-The fried Stage 2 (30.000rpm) engine... -Well it's got a nice speed, but runs very, very hot... so it fried... and my fet's to!!! "THE FETS BURNED BECAUSE I HAD GEARS RUBBING/GRIDING" -Since i had no car, i am making a better cooler (cold) car. -Some ideas for cooling the fets.... "NEVER USED THOSE ON THE FUTURE" -The fet's arrival.... -The removal of the original fried fets... (not in the picture) -The most dificulty part of the evolution.Stacking the fet's.... but it's done and working now.... -2x3fets... stacks really does a improvement on SPEED -The Atomic Stock engine with the aluminum support for much better cooling area. -The chassis almost done |

-The usual friends... dont use them anymore... diferrent mah's is not good. In the begining we use what we have.... :stupid: -That ones was a gift, but they ****... they have the bigger mah, but lack punch and runtime... believe.. runtime is similar to the sonys/energizers.... -Made in JAPAN. It can only be GOOD, and they are my actually daily driver... very, very good (punch and runtime) -Well this is form Team Orion from Kyosho department.... everybody know this... they are for RC. Period! Perfect cells from Punch/power of our beloved Rc cars! -Well i got this a few days ago, and the only thing i can tell, is i have to charge them over night (8hours), because on the instructuions they say they dont like 15minutes chargers! BUT, when "charged" they are a very SICK, sick and PUNCHY ones. Very very EXTREMELY punchy. Someone says it's the best of the best in the world... i don't know... what i know is they are diferent from all of the others! Believe me! |

don't i know you from somewhere else? Runing on a chili, if you got a 2x3 stacked fets its safe! At least for me. Just ensure you got metal bearings.... the only piece a real RC sould have allways!! -Say bye, Atomic Stock!! -The real problem of a chili on 7.2v (60.000rpm's), is tires getting bold real fast (like each set of cells!!:stupid: -A crash of something on 40kmh to a wall, resulted in this.... -Working on the problem.... with GPM front house -Inside done! -Almost ready to run (scream)... -YOu could put a knife in here that the knife bends, lol -Let the walls and gates come.... amén :tough: This litlle bastard screams....:armed: Last edited by DRFTKO; 11-29-2010 at 02:36 PM.. That's a pretty nice truck you got there, very blingy with all those bolt ons. I must ask why are there TRD stickers on the hummer? imo this isnt a project, but I do give you props for all that GPM.

Since "the Jang" came out with his little video rant about "project" cars everyone has to criticize people for calling there car a project.
Honestly who cares if he uses the word "project" in the thread title. No one cared what people called there cars before. This truck is very nice and it's a "project" to him. It's obvious English is his second language and I think his wording is fine considering. So why nit-pick about his title. I don't mean to argue or offend anyone, just stating my $0.02 Besides he did stack his mosfets so that means he modified the stock PCB, not everyone has the soldering skills to do that, so technically you could call it a "project".

News:
-I got the diferential very loose, and the car is starting to speeding every where, except staright! -This diferential from GPM as a screw to lock the diferential, and the plastic gear gives lub, so is perfect! -Diferential fited, and done just put the GPM cover and start to play With a locked diferential the chili gets to the other side of the garage in 2seconds... Christ... big fast machine, believe me.... the front diferential is no locked and very loose to make some corners.. if locked too, the dont turn very well! Just front drag... |
