1986 Monte Carlo: Ouch. (several photos)
Let me start by saying I have always had a liking for damage and damage modeling. I watch it in movies, look for it in video games, and ultimately, try to replicate it in a smaller, (and safer) scale.
So, when I dropped my '86 Monte Carlo, I figured why not. Before: After: Even worse...I got crafty with my soldering iron: As thumbnails in photobucket they look very real and convincing.

Wow! Nice detail. I want to start making these things. Like right now I'm staring at an 1/18th scale VW Bug and 1/18th scale Ford Expedition that I want to total, mainly because they're already broken.

Haha, thats a cool idea! I remember my dad had an old beat up S10 he drove everywhere for a while, and the reason he liked it was that it somehow got respect on the road...It was like, "Oh wow, this guy doesn't have anything to lose" kinda thing where people would avoid him...hehe.

The S-10 thing, yeah people respect you and avoid you if you are and mayeb if you drive something thats beat up. one day I came into class all bruised up, and one of the bullys who had hassled me the other day caught my eye and it looks as if he almost pooped his pants! Was this a model or dealer promo model? |

It seems backwards that respect comes with roughness/raggedness, not nice or smooth.

Actually, I seem to respect those people who have WIP cars (Like mine) rather than the people who paid thousands of dollars to drop their cars off at a shop and have them do it. Or some people just drive them because thats all they can afford, and I respect them for not being embarrassed for driving a car that looks bad.

Yup, I remember the junk models when building the WIldcat One guy had a business of buying little 1/18 model cars, junking them up and selling them for over 100 bucks.

I always liked that website...prices too high for me though, but when you think about it the prices are reasonable, about $50 for the model and $50 for the work. The dios he put them in were really cool to.
I forgot about that tex, thats a good model of weathering, but it's believable, (and conceivable) that it would still drive. Awesome. I also fogot my junkbird, that was for a friend, it was sort of damaged.
