Default Power wheels

Hey yall im thinking of a new project to do over the summer and might want to get started. i am thinking of making a gas powered power wheels. with like big rubber tires, suspension and lifted pretty high. this well mainly be used to get bakck and forth to the pool or friends houses. probbably not much offroading. but i want to get a lot of heads to turn when i drive by. it will probably have ligh bar, CB radio/PA system, radio. all the bells and whistles. im on a short budget because im only 14, but has anyone tried this. can anyone give me any pointers on dos and donts.

hmmm... while certainly ambitious I am not sure how wise a gas engine would be... lots of people redo the batteries for more power and drive time so you might be better off looking into a couple of car batteries wired so as to give you maximum drive time, then a separate smaller battery to power the accessories...

If you Google for modified Power Wheels you will get a ton of results.

That sounds like the 'safer' idea to me A gas powered Power Wheels is ambitious but idk something about it just seems unsafe and careless, but I'm not your daddy

well, last time i saw one the tires were plastic, if thats the case your not going to get much traction and will be ordering new wheels pretty often for it.

and unless your 2 ft tall goodluck fitting in it.......

winner if you did not read the post i said that i would be putting on big rubber wheels. and i will most likely build a frame out of aluminum or copper pipe and cut the body in half and add more plastic in the middle so it will be extended!

My dad and I are doing something similar. We are making a go-kart, but it has a very large red wagon body. Its just so hard to get everything right because we had to extend it all, because the frame was a bit small. Just to maek it easier I'd say you should get a go kart frame for it. But hey, its your power wheels car, Jeep, thing, so have at it! Just be sure you dont make the mistake my dad does and do it without parts so we have to go out for parts every day. Good luck!

Ok lol after reading it IMO your best bet is buying an old beater golfcart off craigslist and rebuilding it, I would say get an electric one. Even thought the older ones are not lifted they are pretty **** good offroad (lol don't ask how I'd know) but the electric motor will give tons of torqe and you can get them for like $75 in need of new batteries and a set of batteries are about $500. But also a golf car will give you plenty of room for all your "bells and whistles" and there's loads of places to buy parts and accesories for them check buggies unlimited to see what I mean

I will be surprised if the plastic gears can stand that stress. Me and y dad did something similar lol WE stuck a 26cc Subaru (YEAH! SUBARU!!) chainsaw engine into it and made it a chain drive, we got it to run but then we bailed on the project after we had a hard time trying to get it to turn.
