the body lift is fairly simple, if you search you can find a few different ideas. what i mainly use if longer screws with some styrene tubing to space it out. i have one or 2 that use longer screws with nuts that hold the pieces in place. if your going for crawler either do a servo mod or you can buy the d.i.y. minituner direct fit crawler motor, (when he has more available, he said by next weekend should have some more ready) and i would invest in bearings. it makes for better traction.

umm bearings are not a must they are more for speed and speed is not an object so regular plastic ones are good

you have to look at what bearings are doing. it is keeping the tire from flopping around. so your steering response will be better, and your tires are not sitting at an angle so your tires will have better traction. both of which are a plus if you wanting to get the most out of your crawler.

A crawler will rarely ever run into the bump steer problem because the xmods chassis design almost never relies on the front suspension for articulation. And with crawling nothing is hitting hard enough to really flex the suspension.

They help alot in the knuckles to prevent tire slop. Can help it turn tighter with bearings up front. But, sealed bearings are preffered if you really are going to get it dirty. If using open or shielded bearings, soak them in a bit of paint thinner or gasoline to get rid of the grease and run them as dry bearings, so they don't hold dirt.
