Default Hobby Shop Age Limit - help me with my essay plz!

Hey guys,
I’m doing an essay on allowing teens over the age of 16 work in hobby shops. All the hobby shops ive been to have requirements of being at least 18 years old, because you are selling nitro-methane and lithium polymer batteries.
I need your opinions. I don’t want opinions on why kids that young SHOULDN’T work in hobby shops, I need opinions on why the(we)y SHOULD be able to work there.

So far I have:

Teens interact with teens more freely.
Just as many teens have r/c as adults.
Teens will come in with more problems than an adult, and telling another teen what happened is easier.

Well, first off. Your not addressing the reason why they are not allowed. If the reason they are not allowed is because of Nitro, then you need to have an explaination why it is ok for the teen to work where they sell nitro fuel.... because teens interact with teens better doesn't help your argument. Find out all the exact reasons why they can't work in a hobby shop, then figure out the opposing arguement for it to be allowed. For example.... I worked in an automotive garage when I was 16.. there was fuel and lots worse or similar chemicals there.. Why is it allowed there but somwhere like a hobby shop not... Good luck.

That is true, but true of any job or resonsibility... nothing specific to working at a hobby shop.

Liability is a *****, but so is the teenage mind. I had to do some psychology paper about driver's ed, age limits and such. There's quite a difference in the brain between the two years

There really is no good argument for allowing 16 year olds.

An 18 year old is still a teen, as far as social circles go. They will get along fine with younger customers, but most importantly older customers (those who actually have money).

Your second point would need to have a source to be legit, but I'll let you know the hobby is predominantly adult. Again, the ones who actually have money to spend.

Problem solving and trouble shooting all come with experience, something that an older person (who has been in the hobby a reasonable time) is more likely to have.

I'm not going to lie... There are some teens in the world that are very smart, reliable, and responsible. But then there's the even bigger other proportion that are ignorant, disrespective, untrustworthy, etc that just ruin it for all the others. Not to mention it mite be n there insurance saying "we are not responcible for any events that are caused by or done to minors under the age of 18" that's the same reason people under a certain age can't drive golf carts at golf courses. And if anything were to happen the company has to cover the expenses.
