u need a shorter shaft i guess u get it in the rsx kit and then u unscrew the rear deck (black one) and then u siwtch the shaft, then u fix the rear deck back in but u screw the screws in the middle hole of the chassis so the shaft would go trought the whole chassis. I dunno if u understand wut i mean if u need pictures ill get some later on.

here is a link from the RS website. it has all the gen one manuals so you can see how to do it.
http://support.radioshack.com/productinfo hope that helps they also have all the old gen one catologs. I know this will help you because all gen one noobs need this. sorry I just had to. Last edited by xmodsnut; 07-10-2007 at 01:07 PM.. Reason: URL didn't work |

you dont have to trun anything on the motor mounts?? that part is not true...
All you do is unscrew the back part with the diff gear and stuff, take out the motor and then replace the shafts push the back part back in and and screw it back in at the shorter setting(its still the middle hole for the screw...). then replace the body clip. also make sure your shaft goes into the hole of the dif. gears... |

dont mind the crappy cell phone pic, but its a little common sense that if you shorten the chassis, you need to bring the motor back as well. otherwise your motor will be hitting the rear deck and wont line up with the gear etc...

why would you say turn it then??
I will show you the entire manual for shortening the chasis... (read the bottom line of this one...this time..) entire thing... I didnt get an image of five....But it tells you to pull off the bottom black part of your chasis. I also didnt get six but it says: "re4place the center shaft. be sure the shafts d-cut is aligned with the gears d-cut." And if i look at my RSX's chassis the motor bracket on the back is on the second hole out, the motor's gear simply runs on the back instead of the front of the gear. they left it like this because then you would still have room in behind the motor since there is wires going behind it... RE-re edit: My rear motor mount placement for RSx chassis: to show that the wheels are lined up and it is at the right length MY gear sits on the back closer to the motor but it still works fine... RE-re-re edit: LOL yeah i coloured my chasis...it looks cooler now... RE-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re edit: last one i promise but...WHOS RIGHT NOW!!! haha Sorry mods i know i already got a infraction warning yesterday but you have to admit hes asked for it...
