Default Why did my car start smoking?

This morning I put brand new batteries in my skyline, then I turned it on and a ton of smoke came out of it.But I put it on the ground and it drives fine and quit smoking, so what was this about? They are Energizer batteries and it has 6 cells if that helps.

were they alkaline cells cuz if so thats 9 volts and that would make it smoke but if you took them out quick enough then your car would still work.(ive done it before so nobody tell me im wrong and that it will fry your board. If you keep it connected then itll fry but not if you take them out fast enough.)

there was most likely a short present and when you went to turn it off you moved the wires. So all i can say is just make sure there are no exposed wires.

Where was the smoke coming from? You could of had some binding that was causing to much resistance.
