You can solder female/male plugs on to a battery pack as long as you have the correct/opposite plug wired to your board, if you are going to add the plugs between tthe battery tray and board, its kind of pointless, there really is no reason to add plugs unless you are using a battery pack, if you are, make sure its not going to fry your board i think the max voltage a board can handle is 7.4 but that may just be the evo boards.
