anwyays, the v2.2 is a voltage regulated board. Yes, it will regulate voltage going to your board so you don't get jitters, but it's large, bulky, and rather inefficient. However, it's not so simple as to just "use that chip" because we don't know the chip's ID, and therefore don't know the chip's pin-out pattern, nor how they implemented the logic for the voltage regulation. it's not as simple as you may make it out to be. learn some electrical engineering, and you'll start seeing what i'm getting at.
