I'm gonna look at that question as a legitimate one. Yes, the GT-R's Chasis code is R35, Nissan did this as a tribute to the old Skyline GT-Rs, but remember that "Skyline" was the name of the car, and GT-R was like saying Mopar, or TRD, etc. (Example: Dodge Neon SRT-4 was really a Neon, but the SRT-4 badge, meant mopar touched it)
A Skyline GT-R R30, 31, 32, 34, V35, and V36 were all with respect to the car called "Skyline". The GT-R gets its name from the Skyline's "GT-R" badge and thats it. It's a performance car, exactly what the badge is supposed to mean.
